Ride Scorpion for the Last Time Before It Retires on September 2

TAMPA, Fla. – One of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s most beloved roller coasters, the Scorpion, is counting down its final days. Although it may be smaller compared to Iron GwaziCheetah Hunt, and Sheikra, when it first launched in 1980, Scorpion was a true trailblazer in thrill rides.

Scorpion has captivated riders for over four decades with its striking red and blue design and a heart-pounding 360-degree loop. The classic coaster has reached speeds of up to 50 mph, making it a fan favorite. Now, after 44 years of operation, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced that the coaster will retire on Labor Day, offering visitors just a few more chances to experience this iconic ride.

What makes Scorpion even more special is its rarity. It is the last stationary coaster of its kind still in operation worldwide. The park has kept the details of what will replace Scorpion under wraps, but enthusiasts can expect the next big thrill to be revealed soon.

Be sure to visit Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and take one final ride on Scorpion before it closes for good on September 2.

Every end is a new beginning, and as Scorpion takes its final bow, a new thrill is waiting to rise in its place at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
