LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Disney’s newest Magic Kingdom-area resort is about to capture guests’ hearts with a touch of island magic. The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is slated to open this December, offering luxury guest rooms, incredible dining, and stunning views inspired by the Polynesian culture and Disney’s own Moana.

Guests will soon be able to indulge in the flavors of Polynesia at the newly announced Wailulu Bar & Grill. Taking its name from the Hawaiian words “wai” (water) and “lulu” (calm), the restaurant is designed to offer serene and picturesque views of the Seven Seas Lagoon.

The Wailulu Bar & Grill will offer spacious indoor and outdoor seating, with a bar that provides a stunning view of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park. A casual walk-up pool bar will offer an all-day menu inspired by the local and indigenous ingredients of the Polynesian Islands, serving both lunch and dinner. For early risers, specialty coffee and breakfast pastries will be available.

The dining room will be adorned with Polynesian-inspired artwork, including floating tropical fish sculptures crafted from recycled materials and reclaimed fishing nets. These fish will appear to be “swimming” throughout the space, leading guests to a striking textile piece at the bar that depicts a vibrant coral reef.

At the center of the dining room, an abstract Polynesian Stick Chart, representing an ancient navigation tool used to cross the seas, will take the spotlight. Designed with faux stained glass in shades of blue, teal, and green, it will enhance the ambiance, creating a colorful centerpiece that invites guests to explore the menu. A special painting of Moana, Disney’s wayfinding princess, will also be featured on the walls, adding a sense of adventure to the space.

In addition, the Island Tower will be home to the Cove Pool, a zero-entry pool perfect for relaxing in a tropical setting. Both Disney Vacation Club members and resort guests will have access to these new aquatic features.

Exclusive Tropical Terrace Gardens

The gardens will also offer stunning views of Disney’s Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses or the Seven Seas Lagoon. These tranquil spots will serve as prime viewing locations for the nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks displays.

With the opening of the Island Tower fast approaching, Disney continues to showcase its dedication to providing guests with immersive, family-friendly experiences in beautiful settings.
