Universal Orlando Cancels Halloween Horror Nights Due to Hurricane Helene: What You Need to Know

With Hurricane Helene making its way toward Florida, Universal Orlando has taken precautionary steps, including the cancellation of tonight’s Halloween Horror Nights event. As the storm approaches, more updates are coming in regarding park closures and changes to scheduled events.

Both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure are set to close at their regular times today—5 PM for Universal Studios and 8 PM for Islands of Adventure. However, Universal CityWalk will be closing earlier than usual, at 8 PM, to ensure guest and staff safety as the hurricane moves closer. Universal Volcano Bay, meanwhile, will remain closed for the entire day.

What About My Halloween Horror Nights Ticket?

If you purchased a dated ticket for tonight’s (September 26th) Halloween Horror Nights, don’t worry. Universal has announced that these tickets will be honored for a one-time use any night through September 29th. Should you have further questions, you can reach out to Universal’s Guest Contact Center at 800-711-0080 for assistance.

Universal’s Severe Weather Policy

Universal Orlando has a comprehensive severe weather policy for those with upcoming vacations. If you booked your trip directly with Universal, you can reschedule or cancel your vacation package, hotel stay, or park tickets without any cancellation or change fees. This policy kicks in whenever a hurricane or tropical storm warning is issued for the Orlando area, which is currently under a tropical storm warning due to Hurricane Helene.

Stay Safe and Stay Informed

As we continue to monitor the situation, we advise you to keep an eye on further updates from Universal Orlando regarding park hours, events, and reopening dates. Halloween Horror Nights is currently expected to resume on September 27th, but be sure to check for real-time updates to avoid any surprises.
